A recent thought that has stirred up for me is related to the Star Wars relaunch planned by disney. If you haven't heard the details by this point. Disney has attained the rights to the Star Wars franchise with plans for many movies and spin offs. If you still don't know what I am talking about, supported sources indicate that J.J Abrams is attached to direct these films. Are Star Wars fans grateful that there franchise is being expanded upon in new and interesting ways. The answer is NO, they have taken to message boards and such to insist an outrage over J.J Abrams being the director of these films. I have grown to despise these over entitled fans. Here we sit hoping for a Shenmue 3 in any type of incarnation. Waiting over a decade now and I look at a franchise that Star Wars fans enjoy being expanded upon in new ways that we will never experience. Hell if they don't like what is being offered they can get there star wars lore from novels, comics, video games and tons of other multimedia delivery options. This expands beyond Shenmue. This is an issue with games in general. How long have Mother 3 fans been pushing nintendo to release that game outside of japan. gamers slave away at fan translations and petitions while star wars fans don't even appreciate what they are being provided. All I can say is that we would be thrilled if Shenmue 3 were being made into a movie(not that it isn't a game, but at it is atleast being finished.), But, star wars fans go into a frenzied outrage when they are offered content beyond what we can even imagine or will ever receive as gamers.
