So that confirms that Solidus Snake & Sunny are both in the game, I think!

Solidus?! Hopefully he's not a tomato like in MGS4.

Well, last time we saw him, he was a zombie, practically...and then he got set on fire and died...no amount of nanomachines can bring him back (then again, Big Boss came back...). But really, don't you think it'll be flashbacks? Or maybe they've made an android of Solidus, or there's an AI enemy that chooses to speak with Solidus's voice or something else batshit like that?

Maybe, its hard to say but that sounds like the right approach. And i'm talking about flashbacks. An enemy AI speaking like Solidus or a robo-Solidus will give me big LOLs.

It does look pretty awesome. Poor animations at certain points, but the productions values otherwise look really high. I do hope the story covers his child soldier days in some form.
I just hate the title. "Revengeance".
It just sounds so... idiotic.

Yeah, it seems like they've taken a few short cuts in terms of the visuals. It's a bit of shame the bodies and stuff disappear so quickly, for example. Still looks ace though.

MGS5: "We have not yet finished with Solid Snake," says Kojima.

Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima has confirmed development on Metal Gear Solid 5 to the twentieth issue (June / July) of the French IG Magazine.

“There will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 with the new FOX Engine,” confirmed Kojima (via Google Translate), “but what we’ve shown was not gameplay, or anything like that. It was only a demo that we had developed internally and released because the lighting and interactions with the environment had fooled everyone.”

Kojima continued: “About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you “a favor” like in the last Metal Gear Solid. I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces. So it’s better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5.”

Kojima also touched upon Metal Gear Rising, reiterating that it is not a Solid Snake title, but rather an offshoot that does something new.

“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never claimed to be a Metal Gear Solid. This is not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It is a spinoff that tries something different. We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

Kojima has sold out. Big time. So much for MGS4 being the end of the series...

Snake should blow out his brains for real in the first two minutes. As a context sensitive moment.

I think the term "sold out" is a little harsh, personally. He is doing it because there's a market for it, clearly, but that doesn't automatically make him a sellout in my eyes.
I've always defined a "sellout" as being someone who compromises the quality and integrity of their creative works just because it's easier and will make them money. Though his continuation of using Snake is clearly being done for the almighty dollar, the real factor in determining if this makes him a "sellout" would be whether or not it's something quickly-made and with little thought put into it, or if the hard work and desire to make something high-quality is evidently there.
Kojima has never been one to skimp on quality in his games, and up to this point it's always been clear that he puts a lot of work into whatever he's developing.
The continued use of Snake is indeed a bit maddening, considering that we were promised an end with MGS4, but I'll reserve judgment on Kojima as a sellout until MGS5 is actually shown. Could be a fantastic game, in which case I don't mind them using Snake at all; I just want to play a good game.
And from everything I've played, Kojima never made a bad game. So I'm still hopeful, despite wishing he'd stick to his guns for once. The mention of being inspired by Deus Ex is promising all in itself.

Kojima is very high in the company. he isn't as dev anymore. Not for a long time. He has say so. It's just Konami & Capcom Square and others just have all gone insane and turned into idiot sell outs

Something has to keep Konami alive. MGS5 could go on to fund some new IP's that Kojima wants to make.

MGS5 was going to happen in the end and I'd much rather have Kojima working on it then someone else.
