GTA V hasn't even been released yet, how the hell would you know this already?

because I have played the previous GTA games and sleeping dogs is miles ahead of it. Plus I like the setting in Sleeping Dogs better, its alot more original, freash, new, hasnt been done. Not saying I hate the setting of GTA V, but at some point they need to retire liberty city san andreas and vice city, and come up with a new setting for these games.

They might still do a next gen version but it makes sense to go for consoles that have combined sales of 150M compared to consoles that will have an install base of about 1-2M this year.

Nah dude, this is GTA V, this is the game people buy a console for. They could launch this on Pipen and it'd be a success.

That said I don't think we'll hear anything about other consoles for a bit. R* is alitte slow on porting, theres a good reason for it but its not going to happen for a little bit, and the install base doesn't have as much to with it as you think.

Everybody needs GTA in their life, no matter which one it is. Hell, it's that great a series Mohammed would give his left testicle to make an appearance in the game.

They need to make a GTA in Chicago. Also, some other cool settings would be Atlanta or Houston, Philidelphia wouldnt be bad, and Denver I think would be cool too, also Las Vegas. Outside the US? Paris, Tokyo, or Moscow maybe? Maybe have a game that takes place in jamaica or puerto rico? Mexico City maybe? Some of those sound intriguing.

Liberty city is partly Chicago (in 3), they're obviously different but going from NY to Chitown isn't as big of a culture shock as like going to Baltimore or Philly, atleast not anytime I've been there.

Believe it or not most times that NY gets used in a game its pretty bad. Its kind of ironic that an alternate universe new york with demons from a studio made in japan actually got more right then multimillion $$ games made in the US.

I think when using a real world setting game designers need to pay more attention and spread out more. Realistically how many games ARE set in mexico? I did like that Max payne 3 was set in Brazil after i got over the idea of leaving the east coast.

The only place I hope they dont make is Boston (but I guess that would kind of fit into liberty city NY/Chi/Boston maybe). I think a true southern big city based game would be cool, (miami doesnt exactly count, it does but it has its own set of rules that are different from the rest of the south) but as segata was saying they really need to do the research on which ever city they choose and make it the RIGHT way. I would say Memphis or New Orleans, only problem is that those cities are smaller compared to Houston and Atlanta, although NO might have the most culture, its a decent setting in general.
