I'm leaning on this being a vita game. The pixel screen fuzz whatever you call it on top of his head does look fishy to me.
No I don't mean his hair.

If it's Vita, then they've done an awful lot of touch-up work to the footage for that trailer.
I only watched it just now. But there's no way that footage is running in real-time on the Vita. The Vita can do some impressive stuff, but it's not quite there.

Still, looks pretty interesting nonetheless. Going for a sort of horror angle, but obviously not in a strictly traditional sense. The giant fiery whale freaks me the fuck out. Obviously a psychological thing, but the image is surreal enough to creep me out anyway.
But yeah, this obviously has MGS connections. Doesn't seem like there's much disputing that.

I haven't played it that much (only maybe twice through, maybe three times), but I am on the same page with you. I liked MGS4 a lot. Wasn't disappointed much at all. Sure, the storyline had some crappy elements, but the game overall was really good. I just don't voice it much because people seem pretty set in their attitude that it's shit.
I'm probably among the few people who really doesn't much mind continually seeing new Metal Gear games. Sure, I'd like to see something different from Kojima at some point, but it's not like MGS is ever actually bad, so I never get too worked up with disappointment either.

Vita is PS3 lite like PSP was PS2 lite. We don't know what the Vita can fully do so it's still very possible. I mean if 3DS can put out revelations then damn right I can believe this as a vita game. Revs looks like a PS3/360 game from maybe 2007/08

i do remember reading something along the lines that kojima's new fox engine can get better graphic from current gen.

if true & its a vita game, it means i'll have to buy one, unless they bring it to the ps3 ](*,)

I personally felt nothing during that part, it could have been good if it didn't drag on so long. There's a small window and they missed it. The moment is nice but it was executed so poorly.

I thought every scene in MGS4 needed an edit or 2.

I still need to rewatch the original trailer to confirm this but this is what i think.

Konami will launch Metal Gear solid V as a ps3 and Vita game where people can buy either separately but like playstation allstars can buy the PS3 copy and link it to the digital copy of the vita version. The reason i say this is because lookin em over again those screens are totally Vita and that explains the resolution and artifacting. On the other hand theres 360 and ps3 as platforms. Again I'll need to rewatch the trailer to see if i notice anything out of the ordinary but I think it'll be a PS3/vita cross buy game.

it would be cool if they could find ways to make a ps3 version and vita version go hand in hand.

but anyway, peace walker is my personal favorite of all the metal gears. i guess the awesomeness of mizuki nana's koi no yokushiryoku plays a huge part being a jpop lover.

mgs4 was awesome, but i dont think it deserved a 40 in famitsu (i am a long time famitsu reader and for a long period of time, their reviews and scores were the only ones i could ever trust). even though peace walker's 40 was obviously bought, i thought it was a superior game than mgs4

its a bit like movie critics, they often give poor reviews to make a name for them self. also some websites give glowing reviews of crap games to appease the games companies who take out advertising on their sites.
