This shit is worse than that time Nintendo called its last system the Wii.

Well, except for the time MS called their new system XBOX One. What'll be the next one? XBOX First? XBOX I? XBOX Uno? XBOX Original? I don't mind them keeping the XBOX name, but a smart way to do it is to call it (for examples sakes) XBOX: Durango or even XBOX 720. XBOX One? Really?

Of course this is the least of this thing's worries. Wii-U by comparison looks more appealing.

This.

I more often than not get a system either late in it's life or long after it was dead. Instead of talking dead systems.

Systems I got late in their life I bought when still alive but were not far from it's successor or just to be put out.

Game Gear
SNES
N64
360
PS3
PSP

If you count systems I got after being dead
Dreamcast
Genesis
Master System
Saturn
PS2
TG16

Had this BS MS has put in I would never be able to enjoy those systems.

Infinity or Fusion would have been fine IMO.

All of these announcements embody one of the worst qualities of business. They stop thinking like their consumers and on what they want most. They start thinking about limitations and scale backs that would be very lucrative for the company if consumers bite, (BIG if), but don't consider the scenario in which the consumers don't. I'm reminded of when I worked for Stream and was living in the trenches dealing with the thoughts and concerns of customers directly in a call center that were in such stark contrast to the solutions and policies the suits in the penthouse that never had direct dealings with their customers would conjure up for us to implement.

It was both hilarious and sad being in the position of trying to rationalize and sell customers on such crack pot scatter brained policy changes we knew were ridiculous and did not begin to address the biggest concerns of the people on our plan and we took a lock of verbal flack for it accordingly. But, like everyone else on the floor, we just had no choice but to obey our superiors and implement and educate customers on the new changes as instructed to. That's what business is. Those Microsoft Engineers are likely eerily aware of these policies being a train wreck in the making, but are keeping a tight lip and nodding/clapping as instructed to at the presentation.

Kill Xbox and just bring back Dreamcast with DCII. MS can fuck off. It's full of Muppet Slappers

Theres always the prospect of games, maybe it'll get good games. Things look really really really grim right now but maybe they'll have some good exclusives.

If its not Shenmue 3 at this point I couldnt care less. Id want to play the next Halo but not at the expense of supporting a DRM drivin console.
This is the shit ive been talking about for years here while everyone doubted me. Sony just won.
