Well I got my hands on it.

It's okay so far. I remember the original Thief stuck you in a large area (some more maze-like than others) and you had to explore it based on the objectives given to you. That was awesome.

Here, it's a modern linear "standard-fare" FPS. I don't mind games holding my hand nowadays cause I rather be done with the game sooner rather than later, but this is pretty disappointing for a Thief game. I wouldn't have minded a larger area to explore. Good thing I bought the Thief Trilogy on Steam for cheap, i'm gonna install Windows after this game and relive the old memories.

Starting over allowed me to get out the tower so hopefully when I next load my save it all works.
