The thing is, its all effort without gains. The updates and patches they've applied to all of their games in the past few years just make the flaws in the system way more obvious. This is cool, but I personally don't care, because I have the Ps3 version that I'm already never going to play again.

Giving out character skins for only the PC version of a game is like giving out ice-cubes to Eskimos. Effort is good, but effort alone just can't cut it.

^ But it is going beyond character skins, it is also apparently including the tank and witch enemies in RE6 as well, something which would require more effort surely. It's also an effort on Valve's part as well for including RE6 enemies in LFD2. Whatever your opinions on RE6 might be, Capcom are putting some effort to this, as a freebie, when they didn't have to and I think it's cases like this where there needs to be a greater reception than just indifference, otherwise they'll just think there's no pleasing the audience and not do it anymore. Like you said, a collaboration like this is cool, and we, as a collective of hardcore gamers who this is appealing to, should support it more.

No, not at all. Dante being in Nocturne thats good because Nocturne made everyone happy, and then they added something that made everyone happier. Resident Evil 6 was divisive and Capcom branded it a failure despite shipping millions of copies.

They're putting effort into 1 version of the game, the version that its least likely people will want, and the version where people make mods anyway. Show of hands, who here will ever actually play this? How else do we support this beyond building up a gaming PC and buying both games on steam? Plus why should we support something thats not for us?

This is a wasted effort, its indicative of Capcom's misguided attempts at seeming relevant. They need to make better games, promotions and patches aren't going to fix the problems they have and just crossing over content means nothing if the game isn't worth playing to start with.

If Lair got Panzer Drgoon characters I wouldn't rush out and buy it.

I might get it. I haven't played RE6 yet and it's something like this which would convince people like me to go with this version. Besides, I'm a fan of L4D anyway, so it's a little of additional fanservice for me.

With the amount of crap the industry has gone through in these recent weeks (looking at you EA), something like this which was completely unexpected is one of the coolest things to happen in a while and I think Capcom and Valve deserve some kudos for making it happen. That's all.
