Oh my f**king god LinuxManiac, you've exactly read my mind. Sony is a good electrical company but I wish they'd never came into the games industry, all they did was f**k it all up, kill Sega and now they're killing Nintendo - The two greatest games companies to ever exist. I wish Sony would just f**king die but no they won't because endless legions of mainstreamers flock to them just becuase Playstation is "cool" and "hip" and has GTA(which is crap). Godammit so few know how great the Saturn and n64 and Dc could have been if it weren't for Sony's savvy marketing hype for something which is much less. The Ps2 is techincally vastly inferior to GC and Xbox and yet it continues to sell at least five times more than those two combined!! Sony made a few great titles, SCEA's Ico is a great example but overall Sony and EA(as well) are just poisoning and destroying the games industry. Most of the big hits these days are all in fact dead average and overated junkware, but as long as there's hyped and marketing, uninformed gamers(no offence to anyone) will always flock to them as if they are the next Shenmue or something, pah! Some real good games do become big sellers, but they're usually far too in between and sell becuase of the "franchise" and not for the actual good game content itself... Sony carries on leading the market with its sh*tty Ps2 and EA releases an avalanche of tiresome sequels ever year(okay some of them are alright but they're mostly just the same as last year). And then come the licences. OOOOOoooooo Harry Potter is big isn't it? Lets all buy the crap that is the game. Again I think EA hold most of the big licences but makes crap games out of them(Potter, LOTR, Bond, ect) [/rant] Grrrrrrrr...

If Sony stops monopolizing the gaming industry... Microsoft will pick up where they left off. If Microsoft stops some other big company will undoubtedly step in...

Why wouldn't they? It's common sence... when Sony steped in... if they weren't succesful I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't have gave a damn about the industry until another company made it apparent that there is a lot more money to be made in the industry... if Sony didn't make a PS1 I am quite sure Sega would have been the dominate one now... why? The Saturn had a CD format unlike the N64 with those costly carts.

That means a lot of the PSX hits would be on Saturn instead.

We Would Be playing Sega Saturns and Nintendo Playstations/
SNES CD-ROMS on top of SNES. And The sad fact is this, Not
only all those hits would be on saturn, The Dreamcast might have
came a year later. And not only blame sony for Sega's death, Blame
Nintendo. Because if Nintendo did'nt make that deal with Sony in
1988, for The SNES CD-ROM/Nintendo Playstation, There would
be NO SONY PLAYSTATION! and nintendo might have been in SNK's
position today. And Sega might have ruled! So here are the the three People to blame for Sega's downfall, 1 - Itself 2 - Nintendo 3 - Sony!

And I'm not making that up either. One memory card, for franchise.....if you want to do a tournament and be able to save, you'll need another.
