Takashi Iizuka Downplays NiGHTS Sequel

Teasing fans of the Saturn classic NiGHTS about the prospect of a sequel has become an institutional pastime at developer Sonic Team over the past few years, the latest example being Sonic Heroes director Takashi Iizuka's recent comments in an interview. However, lest fans misinterpret his statements, Iizuka today issued a follow-up statement clarifying his comments on the subject.
"While I would love to create a sequel to Nights some time in the future," Iizuka said, "there are no plans for such a project at this time."
Those of an optimistic nature may of course switch their fantasies to another track and set to dreaming of a Burning Rangers sequel. In the meantime, we'll keep an eye out for genuine news of Sonic Team's efforts in the coming year.

this sucks....I never played NiGHTS but I have heard so much about it I want to play it and would love to play a sequel.

I only heard good things about the game, but I got a brief overview of it and it doesn't sound THAT amazing. I would still love to try it though, just I don't have a saturn and don't plan on getting one. But If they ever make a Nights 2, they might include the first, since there isn't a whole lot of people with a Saturn

But I doubt that they would, because Saturn games are difficult to port. For Panzer Dragoon, they ported the PC version. If you want to play the game, just buy a Saturn! You should anyway.

NiGHTS is one of the best games I have ever played,I did once own it with a whole heap of classic Saturn games,but sold it when was young and bought a Playstation........DOH!
