Sega Needs to Blow the other sysytems away!

Sega needs to make a new console and blow away all of the nex gen systems. Dreamcast was great but we need a new Sega console because Sega is number 1 when it comes to Video Games!

Absolutely not. They're having trouble enough just staying financially sound as a software-only company.

They failed miserably with the 32x, Saturn and Dreamcast. The hardware portion of Sega is dead and buried and should stay that way. Most investors and consumers will not take another console launch from Sega seriously, so they will be doomed from the start.

they should wait until the next generation of consoles are out for a few years. in that time, they can once again make a name for themselves as a great game company. at that time, they might be able to start up another generation (but i doubt that they will)

I like Sega with software only, it allows everyone to get some of the great Sega games and Sega can focus on games more than systems.

its going to be a long long time before SEGA would even try to get back into this business of hardware. They need to get there capital back up to where it was before anything, which doesnt seem to be growing at the moment.

HELL YEAH! But they do have to wait....right now gamers are getting SEGA games across all consoles, so once they realize 'Hey, this game kicks ass, who made it?' and then they find out its SEGA, they'll be interested in SEGA products. Then when SEGA comes out with a new console SEGA fan boys won't be the only people to buy it. But I doubt they will....unless they make a lot of money...and even if they do they'll have to wait until this generation of consoles come out and then the next.

Even in the UNLIKELY event that Sega does come up with a new console, what more could you possibly want it to do that current systems can't do? I mean, do you really want a photorealistic version of Sonic? I mean, really think about it. We're beginning to reach a point of dimishing returns in regards to console power. What more could a company like Sega do with increased power? Will it truly enhance their games? Is it worth risking the company's finances even further to accomplish this?

Be honest with yourselves...there's nothing to be gained from Sega developing a new system. Develop your software on the systems that currently exist and leave it at that.

It should be a 256 bit machine. With the Internet, dvd player etc.

but they have to add like more stuff....like the option to play the radio or cds in the background and have MUCH MORE games support the freature that on the Xbox, it has to have a harddrive (bigger than any other console), like a plug and a headset type thing so you can like talk on the phone while playing games, the VMU is a must, but better graphics

Sega needs to stick to gaming, not ruining the gaming industry like Sony has done in recent years... If sega ever make another console they should go along the lines of Xbox, add new features that add to the gaming experience (but not a dvd player), everyone has a DVD player anyway, why would they want a shittier version that just bumps up the consoles price?

I'd love to see Sega back in the hardware market, but not until they can afford it, and make a success of it...
