Darksiders

(Gaming discussion not related to Shenmue)

Yeah, I'm actually considering getting NMH2 also (though I haven't beaten the first).
I know a while back I wasn't that impressed with the first game, but I really feel like I just must not have been in the right mood or something. Everything I see of it, I want to like it, and I find it hard to believe that I could have so genuinely not liked something that I feel that way about.
I think now that I'm done with The Saboteur, and Darksiders shouldn't be arriving in the mail until next week (even though it comes out tomorrow >_>), I'll probably play NMH again. I finally have easy access to a Wii again, so I may as well.

EDIT: Oh, and it looks like just about everyone is liking Darksiders so far:

Blinking red? So you put it on standby. Xbox has the red light, PS3's warning light is yellow..

Actually there is only one yellow flash then it changes to red. I didn't notice the yellow light until about my forth attempt. It's cheaper to get it repaired than buy a new one. Still a rip off.

its yellow then blinks red.
its cheaper but you get a "used" ps3 in return, and not with your original hard drive...so its in my best interest to just save up for a new one and that way i can still keep my old hardrive. sucky either way you put it though :(

Yeah, Hollywood always comes knocking if a game shows any sign of being even remotely popular (even if it isn't released yet). Happens more than most people even know. You just don't always hear about it.

:nice!:
That was specifically for you, buddy.
The new picture shows off Joe Mad's artistic skill better, anyway.

They didn't do anything with Halo though.

^ lol. I heard rumors of a halo movie though. They really f ed up with Dragon Ball Z, Dead of Alive, and Street Fighter so I'd rather they stop trying.

I don't like the dumpy WoW-like characters. I also find it rather grim to look at. I prefer Fallout 3's take on an urban wasteland. Probably loads bigger, as well.

No one wanted to pick it up. I guess they (film companies) figured the Halo fad was gonna drop and saw no use in translating the franchise to film. Even when Peter Jackson was interested in producing it.

As much as I don't wanna say it (cause I hate the hollywood decision system), they were right. As much as fanboys cried and whined, Halo pretty much went DOA as soon as that third game came out and Call of Duty 4 took off. There that DOST, or whatever, game but aside from that Halo is just another fad gone past. Like Pokemon. Good thing too, all that effort Jackson and the chosen director Blomkamp ended up going to District 9. A superior film with more interesting subject matter.

EDIT: Bah, their video got fucked up. That was a quicklook of darksiders at giantbomb.com. It'll probably be back up in a few hours.

GT review - http://www.gametrailers.com/video/revie ... ders/60496

Seems a bit negative in terms of action games go. But it's pretty much exactly why OL liked it so much. Imitates a lot of games gone before but with it's own sense of style. I'm giving it a miss just based on the timing, I'm not in the mood to bash through an action game with a story.

I refuse to watch Gametrailers reviews anymore. They spoiled shit about Uncharted 2 in their review of it, so they can't be trusted when it comes to spoilers anymore.

IGN said they liked it and was a fairly solid game but sometimes has a hard time finding it's own identity and found the words empty and they be;ive at certain points shoud have dealt a little deeper in how this whole dealing with the events. They also felt the worlds were a bit to empty.

they gave it a 7.8.

To me it dealt with some good and bad points fairly well and also a solid score.

I liked what I saw and is indeed Zelda like in dungeons, pretty much clones Zelda style for dungeons.
