I noticed more and more that people are talking about random indie games and not linking or pricing them. Well heres the place to do so, lets talk about all our indie darling from Bastion to VVVVVV and beyond. Its be great to hear about some of the lesser known indie games as well (Kenny, Vyse I'm lookin at you)

First an indie game Thief brought up earlier, To the Moon, its only about 12$ and looks pretty interesting.

DLC Quest on xbox live indie games is awesome. Its a 2D platformer that takes the piss at todays 'DLC'. You have to buy everything with the in game money. Sound, animation, a pause menu, being able to go left, jump and so on.

Its 80ms points

I was looking for physical release indie games the other day, actually.
Not many this year, but I did find one for the Speccy:

Dingo, an heartfelt homage to Ultimate (later to be known as Rareware). Unfortunately they just gave away the tapes...

Indie Games, the website, usually does a listing of the top games of the year around this time (well, in a couple weeks or so).

I was also looking forward to getting Sturmwind

and GunLord

but...

The Dream Machine - www.thedreammachine.se
Machinarium - machinarium.net/
Samorost - amanita-design.net

Those are the current indie games I really enjoy. Vyse is really the only reason why I know about them to begin with. I also have this hack and slash co-op game I randomly bought on XBL which was not bad but unfortunately bug ridden.

New Humble Indie Bundle is pretty awesome, and if you give over the average you get Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles

Just a note, Cave Story is one of my favorite games ever.

I did, it certainly loses something in its transition from sprites and midis to models and synth-ed tracks, and the game plays the same, so its really floaty and hard to synch up whats happening on screen to what your fingers are doing. Still theres a lot of new content and its still Cave Story, you'd have to really be trying hard to make it suck.

This is a Machinarium rip-off (sort of, although it's pretty clear by the pictures)

It's nowhere near as good, but it's still entertaining. The physical package is interesting as well, as it includes a soundtrack CD, a poster and a jigsaw puzzle.

Worth a look.

A jigsaw puzzle, that sounds interesting. I was thinking of including the first scene in the game in a holo-foil card.

It does visually look a lot like machinearium, and seems like a pretty straightforward adventure game, it not something I'd rush out and get, maybe if I were working on something of the genre or someone mentioned it was especially good.

As for Fez, Fez makes me happy inside, my partner is buds with Phil Fish (My partner does a lot of indie meetups and goes to E3/PAX etc) and I learned a lot about color and expression by picking his brain.

I Wanna Be The Guy is an interesting one as well. It's free and considered one of the hardest games of all time. I've seen speed runs and its pretty wild. Its the purest form of trial and error i've ever seen.

My package arrived. Really cute. It came in that transparent envelope (inside a stuffed envelope of course), with the pendrive with 4 games and extras, a Endless Forest postcard (not pictured), 2 tiny stickers, a Fatale mini postcard, and that The Path photo of Ginger, autographed by Michäel and Auriea at the back. :)

Found another Machinarium-alike: Alchemia http://www.alchemiagame.com/

It also has a physical edition: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lace-Mamba-Glob ... ef=lh_ni_t

You can play a bit of it on their site.
