Now this is just rumours and speculation, but it's an interesting idea. What are your thoughts on it and the possibility of it happening?

I'm kinda curious why this has never been posted before, not because its interesting but because this rumor has been around since the dreamcast.

Well, for one thing it would pretty much require me to purchase a Wii U. I don't know why it would never happen though. Only a sit -- *ahem* fool deals in absolutes.

i agree that this can be a possibility. Never say never. If this place had that mindset the forum would never exist and neither would our hope for Shenmue 3.

Didn't they turn down a BIG money offer from MS when the original XBox was coming out? Sega will die before they let themselves be bought by anyone.
But how much would someone offer now? Sega are in a very bad state.

Don't forget it's not really SEGA anymore. It's SEGA/Sammy and Sammy is the majority. In a sense be a dream come true if Nintendo did as would make SEGA back in consoles. The dream would be having all those old SEGA IP's on a console. However I fear they would just have SEGA make more Mario.

Id easily welcome this. Sure Sega is doing well enough now financially without them, but imagine Sega now being able to fund more graphically high end games such as You Know What and other such niche sega games that deserve more attention. Aslong as were not talking about Nintendo aquiring Sega to dissolve them and steal their IP's I dont see how this would be a detriment to us. More money, more games and probably better games as a result. Something like that could be the savior of Shenmue. I know when we all herd rumors of MS buying Sega back in the middle of last decade thats what we all desired out of it too.
