I have 2 on Xbox 360. NOt played but a few hours. Little overwhelming for me but I will try and get back into it one day. Great music tho. If you are interested in the series it's up on Gog for 10-20$
Witcher 3 will be the final in the series as CD Porjekt just does not want to have a bajillion sequels and get stale with it. I like that.

Bought the other games day 1 so I'll be picking this up too. Have both DRM free and Steam versions of the game because I never wanna lose em.

Just by reading the list of things they want to achieve with The Witcher 3 should give any RPG fan reason to be excited. I know I am.

This looks better than 2 visually, However that said so far I agree it's a little more blurred. Some of these screen I see a few technical things are are similar to Castlevania Lords of Shadow. That said the character models esp textures of clothes are much improved. Things will look better but the biggest improvement is more games running in 1080P at 30-60 Frame Per Second. For now there is a difference but the gaps each gen seem to be getting slimmer.

We might not see a jump from Final Fantasy VIII to Shenmue anymore.

^ Thats exactly what I was thinking, kind of worry-some will game graphics evnetually get to a point where they can go no further? Well when trying to achieve hyper-realism anyway.

Put it to ya this way. Hollywood has yet to fully master CGI with hundreds of millions. So we are still a long ways off. While the jump from each gen isn't as obvious as I mentioned FF8 to Shenmue and slowly the gap is getting slimmer. We still have a ways to go. Just for example it was awesome when we could in first person pick up any object in Ryo's house. Well when we get to a stage where in game character kneels down in the ground and we just pick up some dirt off the ground and sift it through a hand. I don't mean a story point or a pre determined area. I mean just anywhere you look you can touch feel pick up without video game logic or restrictions. Til then we still have clipping and ghosting and those white lines at seams of walls n such.

No online multi player and ditching QTE. I find this a good thing so they can just focus on a fantastic single player experience and QTE's are a plague in nearly everything. Was ok in Asura and the series is not given enough credit where it is original. Darksiders. Boss fights or cannon fodder those B above the head is a good subtle way IMO.

Growing to have a lot of respect for this company even if their games don't fully appeal to me

So the game is 35 times the size of the previous game and I like that the game will encourage exploration. The developer interview is half hype/half tourist information though.

I was about to play the Witcher 2 again soon and try some different alternatives. Seeing this will make me start earlier.

By the way, I also like the attitude of the company (until now). The last game got a patch of 10 GB with a new mode, new textures, bug/gameplay fixes etc. because they weren't totally satisfied. Unlike companies who don't care much about major bugs and leave some there "for entertainment".
