This generation of gaming is shite. It's all about the graphics.

Video games are all about visual stimuli, and as technology improves and advances, so, too, does graphical fidelity. There's all sort of other things that have improved with each generation, too, but visuals are the most obvious thing, despite processing power taking leaps and bounds in terms of loading times (if any), A.I., world sizes, performance, animations, physics, etc. Of course, these things only really apply if the people making the game are competent enough to take advantage of these things, otherwise you end up with horse shit like APB Reloaded.

To think we went from this to this in a matter of thirty-odd years is nothing short of stunning.

gaming has always been about the graphics, the graphics are just better now.
