Cool, sadly not a Ps+ owner or in EU but cool for those that are. But tbh I just wish these games were dubbed pass the first game, maybe then it would motivate me more to play the rest of the series (which 1 is the only one i completed)

I think you can register to the PSN+ for a 14 days or 1 month trial period.

I've always preferred dubbing to subtitles in games but got used to it in Yakuza very quickly. All I really miss now is Detective Date's American voice, which I felt suited him perfectly.

Never understood why people had issues with subs. I guess it must come from a younger generation not having grown up with many games that had only that? In any case I would never understand how someone who grew up gaming throughout the 90s would have an issue with them.

Also it seems this was a mistake that has already been rectified. Too bad, it could have brought some more interest in to the series.

It can come down to several things.

For example, the quantity of dialog and its role in the overall entertainment package

I never had any qualms about the subtitles in Banjo-Kazooie, because the conversations were few and far between, fairly inconsequential, and not designed to be cinematic in any way. Not so with Shenmue or Yakuza. For games like these that aim to be more movie-like in their delivery, I prefer a more audio/visual experience.

As you might then expect, I don't tend to walk over hot coals to see subtitled movies. But as with even the chattiest of games, it's not a total deterrent and can end up being less of a nuisance in some than others.
