Me too. It's a shame real life doesn't allow reloading. I would also prefer if life were turn-based.

Honestly I have no regrets spending the money and I would do it again in a heart beat. It's been nothing but a delight and very fun. My wife loves playing Mario Kart and Sniper Clips with me. And when playing Zelda she actually enjoys hearing all the interesting sound effects in the house instead of from games like Horizon and Resident Evil.

Also the portability has been nice since sometimes I have long lunch breaks in-between certain stretched out work days.

This weekend I am also staying for a couple days with my in-laws as I usually do once a month and im happy I can just up and bring this portable console with me everytime I go now.

So ya, love the thing. Just wish it had system wide account based achievements like the other systems though. I wanna see my and others progress in games. Aleast a "stamp" or something for completion or a critical accomplishment.

@KiBa: VR porn already exists. It even has its own category on Pornhub.

I tried VR porn. My profession also grants me the knowledge to make my own VR porn game and I would be lying if I said I didn't dabble in such development during my free time. Problem with pre-recorded VR porn is that there is zero interaction, which is what VR is all about. Without interaction, you just have a shitty 3D movie, which is what we have been able to experience for nearly a century. While you can look around with current "VR" porn, it really isn't any different than traditional porn so the format in it's current iteration will never take off.

In my tests, tactile feedback isn't necessary, but individual finger control is. There are controls in development that allow this level of control, so maybe the ideal VR porn experience will be available in the near future. I sure as shit won't be that developer, though. I am too modest to make anything that lewd public.

Hey, AG, I'm not waiting for holosuites anymore.

No interaction seems pretty realistic to me.

Yeah.... VR doesn't have a very creative ecosystem yet.

Still liking the Switch, Axm? Recommend it to others?

Also, a study about The Hobbit showed that those who watched in 3D remembered least/were less into it. Neuroscientists noted that the unnatural perception made the brain process the visuals more. I'm not condoning perversion, but what about -- how shall I put it -- adult VR? Being immersed can have different meanings. I mean, I think what you're saying, and I agree, is what Roger Ebert said about video games when they first came out: they are not art like cinema because they don't allow complete artistic control over story and how it is presented to the audience/player. For story-driven gaming. It's already awesome for the obvious purely visual experiences, with one exception: I think story-driven action games that put the player in one spot with realistically limited 3D visibility (like in a race car or the cockpit of a ship, etc) are already a perfect visual language because the content suits the medium. But we need radical new approaches that make the medium suit any content.

This was actually my quote so I'll respond. It wasn't really about the artistic control. Their research looked at the physical way the brain copes with these signals. The way it was presented was not realistic enough for the brain to process it with little effort. So they would likely need to improve technical aspects. As we both said : racing etc. is already suited for this.
Regarding adult VR. There are also several studies already. They reported that a significant amount of the available content was perceived as being weird by many users. Something with the proportions, being thrown into another body as the protagonist etc. And for some it was the fact that they got nervous by getting "too close" :P

PSVR is the most wonderful tech in years, in my opinion.

It seems technologically limited compared to the competition from what I've seen.

I wouldn't bother with it personally. Even my Occulus Rift is looked down upon by Vive users, but it's still far superior to PSVR. The problem with VR is that the resolution is low enough that you can see the individual pixels. I can see them with the Rift, and the resolution is even lower on PSVR which would only make the issue worse. I'd say just wait for second gen VR hardware.

It's 720p if I'm not mistaken.

Granted, PSVR is going to be weaker than either the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. With that said, PSVR is still a huge step-up from mobile VR headsets, that alone makes it a compelling option for current gen VR experiences. Besides, the other advantage of the PSVR is that it's part of Sony's PS4 ecosystem, with a steady amount of new VR content being released every month via PSN that's guaranteed to work with every PSVR headset. Which has always been the strength of a dedicated home console over PC gaming, VR is no different in that regard.
