Posted: Sun Jun 10, 2018 11:54 pmI really wanted to like the first game, and yeah, the gameplay was a lot of fun. But good god, the story was just so much a case of "who gives a shit? Skip cutscene."
I really just played what I did of it for the co-op experience, because yeah, parkouring around killing zombies was great fun.
So like Henry said, with a better story (which is almost surely the case; with Avellone there, I may as well take this as classic Fallout, just a bit less-apocalyptic), I'm there.

Posted: Mon Jun 11, 2018 12:41 amYeah, the story was nothing to write home about but there were at least a couple of setpieces that stuck with me and made the experience all worth it: one being that you were thrown into a gladiator type of arena stripped of your weapons and gadgets against hordes of zombies, and the final act. Plus the DLC was a beast all by itself. You couldn't anymore rely on climbing to tall places for protection most of the time in the new maps and the added mechanics had a Mad Max vibe to it.
