it's just business, when you aim a product at a country you make sure that the product will not offend in said country to avoid turning away potential customers. you can see this practice in all international businesses.

Indeed. I think this is party of why I'm wary of the Right's dream of saving money by getting government out of prisons/police/roads and public schools in favor of simply turning the show over to the for profit corporations. Sometimes the quest for maximum profit gets in the way of public interest.

I bought a Sharp VL-L65U VHS Camcorder and looking at the Canopus ADVC-110 to take that VHS footage and firewire it to my Mac (whenever I get it back).

Hopefully it'll look and sound fine on the playback. I'm thinking of getting a higher-quality consumer mic if the sound doesn't sound too clear.
