Wow... This thread is a trip down memory lane. Be it liked or disliked, I am honored to even be remembered by any of you nutcases.

Sorry I dropped off the face of the Earth without so much as word. Made some promises I couldn't keep. Things got busy and I just wasn't as engaged anymore, both with Shenmue and forum administration. For what it's worth and from what I can see, though, the Dojo is in good hands.

Maybe one day we'll all play Shenmue together again; probably not. In any case, the good (and the weird, and the ugly) times remain.

Has it really been 7 years since I started making a fool of myself here?

Many of those I've met and remembered at SD are people who grew into adults at the same time as I. The shared experiences of that era are impossible to quantify for those who were not involved. They will never truly understand the relationships, friendships, and loyalties which were forged in the first few years of this community's existence. Now for some more over-dramatization.

Andy: How interesting it has been watching him grow from a boy with a deep love for a video game, into a leader, finally into an everyman while never losing his simple charm and ability to connect with people. Without him of course, none of us would be here now.

CreativeControl: One of the nicest, sincerest guys who had talent and an honest sense of responsibility.

IwaoHazuki: A true net cowboy with an intuitive understanding of people. His experiences at war made him a more serious person but he has always had a warrior's spirit.

csmakio: Rawsome dude.

JAPANFAN: What a nice guy.

Viper250: A real Englishman, one who had pride in his country but also humility.

kaligurlxx: A spark plug of sass and energy.

kenshiro: Best Poster Ever.

Master Ren: One of the first people I befriended on the forums and subsequently backed up in skirmishes.

mikec_ct: A real funny guy.

MuSHa: So great at inappropriate humour yet always capable of keeping his head when under fire.

Myles: Great dude. Plus he has an awesome birth date.

RobSensei: I got your back, Rob.

Shotaro Kaneda: Such a friendly, loyal guy.

TaoLishao: Wasn't even a teenager when she first arrived, but has always been wise and mature beyond her years.

khien: So much more intelligent and mature than just about everyone else here was but still capable of blending in and having fun as an equal.

Trunks: Another great person I met here with whom I've enjoyed talking and gaming.

Ash: The best human being ever to pass through these forums, period. She really helped me out a lot and I will always be indebted to her kindness.

ChaiOgawa: A first ballot Hall of Famer for sure. Kind, funny, natural, friendly. Bad things have happened to him both offline and online but he has always been stronger and more forgiving than those around him.

DragonSlayer88: He just plain rocks.

Hei Long: One of the most intelligent posters who was ever here, without ever being long-winded and always retaining his cutting wit.

James Brown: Great, great, crazy guy.

Master Baihu: Remained a great friend and leader through difficult times.

Shenmueplaya: Smooth and relaxed but always with a strong sense of honour.

Forklift #5: A real good guy. He didn't like to show off, but was one of the real intelligent deep thinkers here.

St. Elmo's Fire: He's a man! He's forty! (Well no, not quite [That ain't true]) Crudeness is common here these days, but his has always had a more calculated wit behind it.

SpringChick: A genuine person who has always been nice and polite yet at the same time never politicized her feelings.

Yunny: A kind and caring young woman who was always willing to help when ever someone asked.

Araviel: What a great gal, so strong and full of fire. I'd defend her but she wouldn't need my help.

Some great names on that list, kinda saddening that I've lost contact with pretty much all of you! But I think I'll stick around these forums now, and Hazuki Dojo if it's still up.

How have you all been? I remember everyday I came on these forums I was laughing, such a great place back in the day, how is it now? Some great things going on up in the modding section!

I just stopped by the Dojo a couple of days ago to see how you guys feel about "Shenmue City" and stumbled upon this topic. So many memories, so many cool people I used to talk to on a regular basis. And you two, Juanfran and Darkly, even remembered me, hahah. That makes you even more awesome. In case you guys ever get to read this: Lots of Love to Shotaro, Rob, Darkly, Juanfran, Bambi, Khien, Chai, Dan, Araviel, Ash, Andy, Japanfan, Yunny, Master Kyodai, Elmo, Yusuke and everyone else who's a great person!
