We'll miss you! :hello:

What sort of person compares groping someone to killing kids? Idiots.I guess he's "outie" then.

He got one thing right though, OL is definitely a creeper!

And why is that? These are facts, it's not like I'm making up bullshit.

Because your main reason for being glad a website closed down is because some people said some things you didn't like about Shenmue. If that upsets you you're going to have a breakdown when reviews hit for Shenmue HD. It's ok for community's you don't agree with to exist, there are plenty of websites which have people I don't agree with but if they shut down tomorrow I wouldn't be celebrating because I'm an adult.

I guess you have a point. In regards to Shenmue HD though, there's no way to know. There are many questions such as whether it will be a full on remake or just a remaster or ports of Shenmue I and II and then there's a question of if they could mess up the ports somehow and obviously with the remake there'll be even more questions etc. However, if Shenmue I and II were released as they were on the Dreamcast then I believe they'd get a perfect score of a 10/10 or at least a 9 or 8/10.

No they wouldn't.
It's a polarizing franchise. Always has been. Porting a 20 year-old game and leaving it 'as is' probably won't make anyone 'see the light' anymore than it would have back in 1999.

It's Shenmue...you either like it or you don't.

NeoGAF got kind of strange the last couple of years. A bit too political for my taste (as a gaming forum).

OL wrote: But just going by the article, two instances are mentioned: he grabbed somebody while in a drunken stupor back in 2012 ("grabbed," mind you; for all we know, it could have been on the shoulder), and he got in a shower naked with someone, then left when told to.
...
The guy is clearly a dumbass, but the things he's accused of are just stupid frat boy bullshit. He didn't rape the girl in the shower; he left when she said she wasn't interested. Whether he acted like a jerk later is besides the point. And whatever "grabbing" he did five years ago was done while inebriated, and apparently led to nothing else afterward.

He grabbed her ass I guess. In any case, rape cases disgust me (had longer discussions with women regarding abuse within an industry) but it seems as if there's a bit of a witch hunt going on since the Weinstein thing. What I saw until now seems to be more "jerk"-category indeed than brutal assault? That being said, I wonder if they're checking for more due to the earlier moderator issue (child porn, scamming,...)? There was another moderator who went against an abuse victim in a discussion about pedophilia too.

Where is the cut-off point when being drunk doesn't qualify as an excuse?
Is it before or after rape?
Is it acceptable to surprise anyone by showing up naked and hoping it's welcome?
Would you make the same excuses if your mother, wife or daughter were telling you the story? No.
Maybe one day a guy will surprises you by getting naked and jumping into a shower with you. Maybe he'll leave when you tell him to. But maybe he''ll just f*ck you up the ass. Maybe you'll like it and you'll both live happily ever after.

It's not an excuse, certainly not for rape. It didn't seem as if OL was arguing that point? Rather that this seemed to be more inappropriate than criminal? As for the shower, a lot depends on context and specific behavior.
And why an example with a guy? Women also try this stuff. One (married) colleague grabbed some of us, invited you home for "parties" with the nanny etc. During/after live gigs : repeated grabbing, taking certain pictures, one was drunk (afterparty) and she undressed just before my girlfriend and the others returned. Another got a key card to my (shared with a friend) hotel room and entered when I was taking a shower etc. All criminals?

As a court psychologist said today : overregulating human interaction is potentially dangerous, could water down the meaning of assault and overloads courts.

Shame Neogaf is basically gamergate central now as I feel that Neogaf was extremely instrumental in Shenmue 3's Kickstarter success, sure there was a lot of ridiculous opinions and concern trolling and such but there also were a lot of good insightful posts as well. All I have left to say is I love Shenmue despite a lot of the Shenmue community which includes a lot of posts in this thread with their dog whistling nonsense. Utterly maddening. But whatever.

Why is every differing opinion considered trolling nowadays?

It's much easier to use buzzwords than a counter argument.
