So, I finally saw grandmas boy over the weekend. That was a decently funny, yet still retarded, but just about any video game nerd can understand and appreciate it, kinda movie. I doubt thats even close to an accurate representation of what its like creating video games for a living though.

Might possibly be unreasonable to judge an intentionally dumb comedy over a lack of realism, but its representation of game development really did put me right off it. Hate the movie.

Its got its fairly obvious points where its unrealistic, but theres a lot of stuff thats actually true. For example, the owner of the studio being a weird health nut, think about certain other companies and certain activities like biking.

The age thing has changed, when I was 17, most of the people I worked with were 20-30, but now that I'm 23 most of the people I work with are 30-40. Theres also a lot of QA people that have been doing it for like 20 years, I know some people that have done QA since Acclaim.

I guess you guys don't believe me, but seriously, game development is nuts.

Freeware existed in 2006, matter of fact Unity has existed for a while. WXP games isn't a very large studio but they put out Xotic and theres plenty of 3D games made by 1-2 people. I mean I'm making a game with menus that have more code then 90% of iOS games (thats just the menus) so its not impossible, actually a lot of people in QA (atleast the ones not wanting to be stuck in QA their entire life) make games on their own time since most have a "non-compete clause" which allows them to develop a game so long as they're not doing it at work or using company funds to do it.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, its just waay more realistic then you guys think. I also happen to like the movie because in 2008 I was living with my grandma, drinking heavy and working QA.

Clearskin, A british thriller with Sean Bean playing an undercover operative trying to stop bombers in London.

Nothing amazing but decent way to spend an 1hr and 40 minutes

I've never been so pissed off at a movie. At least for a long time. I can go on for an HOUR on how FUCKING TERRIBLE some of the choices they made were. But what pissed me off the most is that they had such a beautiful premise and they went ahead, threw it on the ground, stomped on it, and pissed on the remains. I was expecting another Mulan, then a nice little adventure movie, and instead I got a whole heap of NOTHING.

^^Haven't seen it, but I liked the premise. Problem for me is that I can tell just from the ads that it's way too goofy for the kind of story it is.
Pixar should really do something a little less on the side of cartoonishness someday. They could probably accomplish great things.

I thought Ted was better. And I found it funny only a few times. But at least it had a more structured narrative.

Trust me with Brave, they destroyed what premise they had. The advertisements were just misleading.

Watched the last twenty minutes of Paranormal Activity 3 with some people. I haven't seen any so wasn't quite sure what the fuck was going on but I don't get why people get so freaking scared at these films.
