Just watching some Star Trek and I just got super depressed knowing I will never get a chance to meet Leonard Nimoy. I was hoping to go to my first ever Star Trek con in the next few years and I was looking forward to meeting him. Now I can't.

Don't quite a lot of American citizens HATE the idea of a subsidised healthcare system, let alone unemployment benefit, though?
My job has 33 days annual paid "vacation" though, which is not something I'd like to lose...

Not sure, it's such a different way to how we do it here and I have no real reference point to compare, I'm pretty sure that since I'm a diabetic though I'd be paying a lot just to exist with the insulin and test equipment though. TBH despite all the bad shit I read about the NHS, every time I've been there they've been just great, same with most of the instances of most of the people I know...
