Wow, that sounds like an awesome trip. The top two places I'd like to visit are Hong Kong and Japan, so I hope to go there one day!

I'd like a copy of that Shenmue, but I'm afraid I live all the way in America.

I don`t know if any of you know that game (cause it might have a different name actually... it`s all Japanese!) but it is a game that has a motion sensor and you actually have to do police shootouts and in order to stay alive to have to take cover. So basically you are crouching in front of the machine and try to dodge bullets!

I've played that game in many different arcades. Its also in an arcade five minutes walking time from where I live.

Has anyone played that sword game(can't remeber name). Its japanese and has motion sensors. A hilt of a katana is connected to the machine it has a blue bulb thing on top and by each side of you there are see through plastic sheets. You move the hilt to slash and parry also if you put the sword in the guard postion either to your left or right you guard.

Awesome, Damulder. I also would like a copy, but I live in the states too... :( But I think play-asia.com has Japanese copies for $9.90

You should go check out digital rex! I'm not sure where it is in relation to where you are at though. But make a huge banner that says I love Shenmue and run around their building. If you get their attention and they stick their head out a window or something, flip it over and have it say "Is shenmue 3 coming?!"

If I go someday, I might not even check into a hotel. Those comic cafes sounds so lovely...

Oh and by the way, someone asked me about cigarettes: The biggest brands here are Mild 7 and Seven Stars. Also Lucky Strikes are quite popular and of course (like in Every country of the world) you can get Marlboro and Philip Morris. Me, being a Lucks`s guy, am quite happy about their great availability!

hmm a little shenmue related, seven stars, maybe sword of the seven stars

I'm mistaken- play asia has copies of Shenmue *II* from Japan, but as of now they're sold out. I was looking at that last summer when I was looking for an import, and got excited that it was only 20 bucks, but than saw that it was the Japanese version. I may have to get it if they ever get it back in stock to hear the real, male version of Yuan.

It has a TV studio and offers live studio programs just like you said. :)

Hey Yeah! Thats the one! I sat in the lower left corner of the map. Next to the coffee makers!
Anyway. I am at my friend`s place right now and she was kind enough to give me free lodging and coffee. Her family stayed up last night just to get to see me. Foreigners are still an oddity in this part of Tokyo (I am in Fujigaoka, 1 train hour outside the city centre).
Now news for eveyone of you who has seen "Lost in Translation": I will go to the Imperial Hotel (yes, THAT hotel) and help as a translator for an international aerobics competition. My friend Shin is one of the organizers so that should be no problem. In between translating I will sit down at the bar (just like in the movie) and drink whiskey. I will take pictures for you guys as well and if everything goes fine I will be able to start uploading some tomorrow!
Apart from that I wanted to tell you that I will go to Joypolis tomorrow and of course takes pics there as well!
And I definitely WILL go to Digital Rex no matter where exactly it is. After all no train ticket is more expensive than 3 pounds, no matter how far it is. I might just ring their doorbell instead of running around with a sign though :)
Now I will go and give Japanese Pizza Hut a try and then head out for the Imperial!

Talk to you guys later, not sure if I can use the Internet at the Imperial but I will do my best to keep you informed. As usual!

See you all later!

That sounds awesome, Phil. JOYPOLIS sounds so fun! How did you meet these friends of yours from Japan? And Give Yu Suzuki, or Noguteeno(I know I got the name wrong...he's the big guy who impersonated Dou Niu for the muecas) a hug from me! And a big long kiss too :)

Errmmm. I will try to give Yu Suzuki and that big guy a kiss from you... If the security guards don`t make me into mousse beforehand... Anyway, if I get a chance I will leave a note for Suzuki with greetings from everyone in the Dojo who`s name I can remember in that moment! And I will ask one of my friends to translate it to Jap for me as my Japanese is too limited for an important task like this.
And I know all these people from Newcastle where I live. They all live in Newcastle as well and for several twisted reasons they are all here at the same time now. 6 people in total! What a weird coincidence...

Anyway, gotta go get Pizza. See you later dudes!

How did you like the taste of pizza at a Japanese Pizza Hut?

You mean Fujigaoka on the Denentoshi line? If so, it's Yokohama, not Tokyo any longer.
Anyway, you can get to Ohtorii, the closest station to digitalrex, within one hour from
Shibuya/Shinjuku area, I believe. Please note there're several SEGA bldgs in the area.
It seems I forgot to tell you that digitalrex is on the 8th floor of SEGA bldg. No.2.

http://sega.jp/corp/sega_map.pdf

The black box is where the Ohtorii station is and the blue letters show the SEGA bldgs.
You can recognize the number "2," I believe. ;)

BTW, I bet the internet is available at the Imperial Hotel, though it might be expensive.
