for me there's a difference between smart and intelligent, intelligent is just someone with a great amount of knowledge, smart is someone who applies also common sense to that knowledge
probably pretty hard to understand what I'm saying as i often choose the wrong words to explain myself but hey you get the basics

For the record I've never made hello or goodbye posts. I just drift about. (At this point in life I have a full load of classes, work, and a particularly awful internet connection that makes it difficult for me to find time to visit forums. )
