Theres only about 30 reported deaths at the moment, so not much for an earthquake of that magnitude, but its still early, there may be alot more.

He's a tough guy, I'm just worried because he lives in Kobe.

Edit, ok he text-ed me, his hand is broken, but otherwise ok. Said he got to safety didn't say where tho.

My God this is horrible.

Waiting to hear from family still, though they are south west so should be okay. Regardless, they are on the coast so I'm worried.

Not to be selfish, but talk about timing. Left a few days ago...

12:36am Reuters is reporting a ship carrying 100 people has been swept away during the tsunami. The information has come from Japan's Kyodo news agency but has not been officially confirmed.

Fuck. It's always nasty to hear when these things happen. My mother's cousin was never seen again as she was on holiday in Sri Lanka during the Boxing Day Tsunami (2004), so was my friend's grandfather. These things are always so unpredictable and sudden. My heart goes out to those suffering at this time.

This is horrible and really scary. My heart goes out to those effected by this and also to those with family out there, I hope they are all safe.

It been like one disaster after another recently, this coming so soon after what has been happening in Australia and New Zealand, it's crazy.
