Notes to some of my old anime OSTs are so complex that even robust tagging can't handle it all.
It made me realize how much better, more meticulous and passionate everything was in the past. This isn't nostalgia. These are facts.

Online anime communities are serious business. When I saw a set of rules for one of them, I was floored. It's like quantum physics, and they even have their own store and café. Applying to be a member of the staff - which isn't getting paid, obviously - takes an actual résumé, lol.

Things like in-depth HTML/PHP coding, Japanese, fast connection, expansive knowledge of audio/video formats and licensing laws, IRC fluency... these sort of things. It's actually quite hard to run s community like that. Their FAQs are probably longer than your scripts.

Completely exhausted. Took my mother to the hospital for her back pain injections, looked around town and applied to 5 places, caught up with two old references after a couple dozen calls and transfers, coordinated delivery of my new bed and used furniture for the apartment tomorrow between two different places, arranged for Time Warner to take up my internet in the new place (broadband, hooray) and moved a tv I bought in a local thrift store with the buildings flat bed on wheels into the new place along with clothes and odds and ends. Back in the day when people would ask that question here I would tell them they needed to write a 6 page essay (size 12 font, single spaced, Aerial type face) on why they want to be a moderator and would excel in the role and to submit it to whiteShadow, whom would check for spelling and grammar mistakes. Also one mistake would equal "disqualification" or some such. I don't know if anyone ever bought it, though if they did I doubt they ever "passed".
