I thought the same thing. Not just as I would have found it cool, but because the Simpsons is now a completely washed up, strung out show that really needs to just stop. Family Guy too, if they haven't already packed that in.

Problem is there's nothing to replace it with, and the networks never show faith in new shows until something extraordinary happens with viewing figures.

Indeed, and the box says plain as day Ages 12 and up. I'm 29. So it's like they made it for us.

Posted: Tue Jan 07, 2014 3:27 amI don't watch it regularly at all, but it was on the tv when I went to pick up a sub the other day, and it still seemed just about as good as it ever was. I mean, it was never "roll on the floor" funny. Right from the start, it was always more of a "light chuckle" kind of show. And that was the same vibe I got from it the other day.
Seriously, go back and watch the initial couple seasons, and it won't seem all too wildly different from how it is now. It might be a little more wry nowadays, and it surely doesn't feel as fresh, but I've just never understood the whole "it was so much better before" stance that people take.

Posted: Tue Jan 07, 2014 3:29 amI think it went through a phase of being extremely wank, but it's back on track now. The structure of the episodes seems so off nowadays though... It's almost as if the humour's there, but the writers gave up a long time ago.
