Shenmue Dojo

I was going thru some of my posts on my original account on this site... From like 2003/2004. And oh my, the way I used to write and communicate is absolutely making me cringe. It's funny though looking back at some of the old old threads. I had totally forgot about most of the interesting conversations I've had on this site when I was a young teenager.

I probably have at least 2 from way back; 04-05ish. Don't have access to the emails I used and can't access them.

Same here, I'd just completed Shenmue II when our family first got the internet at home, and the Dojo was one of the first sites I found Had a look through some of my early posts as well, 14-15 year old me makes me cringe a bit on some of them

Yup, same here, haha. Really embarrassing stuff. But hey, we were so pure back then.

The only other forum I ever really went to frequently was Metal Gear: The Unofficial Site and that closed down years ago. So really, Dojo is really my one and only home on the net.

Didn't the mgs forums get hacked before they closed it down? I was a member years ago

The Unofficial Site rings a bell. I was a member of Metal-Gear.Net forums back in the day..

I'm sure there was a site called ShenmueFanSite or something close that had a forum, I was a member of that for a short time...

I like how despite Facebook groups, Google Circles, #hashtags, large gaming site forums and wikis or whatever else, the Dojo community and its forums are still fresh and ongoing for all these years! I mean there are topics here, being responded to, that go back YEARS.

Talk about our first posts, I wish we could find ALL the old members at this point.

(No disrespect to 500k or the other new media fan groups intended)

I used to go on that one all the time. I wonder if the admin from that site is still active in the community.
