How many language do you speak?

I'm fluent in two languages: English and Chinese.

I also speak Japanese, but not fluent yet. Hopefully by the time Shenmue III release, my Japanese will be good enough to play the game in Japanese.



Now tell all of us on this forum how many language do you speak fluently!

To your question: with these above definitions in mind, I cannot be fluent in any language at all, since I do not master any language in all (!) of its details. Nevertheless, I can speak four languages w/ different levels of mastery.

The common understanding, and interpretation, of many concepts oftentimes does not reflect what is found in the dictionary. I'm willing to bet you're able to understand what he meant by fluency -- likely something along the lines of "being able to speak or write a foreign language with similar ease as if with one's own native language'.

Anyway, the only language I speak is English. Although, I have some experience with Spanish, French, and German -- none of which are near fluency.

I can speak in tongues when I play with one of these as well, though it probably doesn't count since it's hard for anyone to understand.

Portuguese, Spanish and English.
When i was in Italy i got lost and tried to ask my way back in Italian... didn't go well. I could understand perfectly people replying to me: "I can't understand a thing of what you're saying" but obvioulsy they coudn't understand me.
