Shenmue and Dreamshell SD card adapters

Hey everyone, does anyone have any experience playing the first two Shenmue games in their entirety on one of these SD card adapters with Dreamshell?


Is it unplayable, buggy, etc...? Or does it run pretty much fine with minimum lag throughout? Hope I'm allowed to post this here, heh. If not, please delete this or move it and keep in mind, I'm new around here

EDIT: Mainly asking for the English dub modded version of the Dreamcast Shenmue II which is my preferred. Don't want to put a burnt game in my DC. Own a pretty much brand new copy of the first.

The Dreamshell is connected to the serial port and that is way to slow to load full games.
You have to look for a device that replaces the GD-Rom drive, like the GDEMU or the USB-GDROM.

Thanks BlueMue! Read about the GDemu, they look hard to get though. Will check out USB-GDrom.

This is WIP version of DreamShell 4.0 RC3 and ISO Loader v0.4.5 Beta.
Dreamcast boots from sd_loader_with.bios, the game runs fine in direct boot mode.
Still no DMA support for this game, but in any case works better than previous version.
You can play with value of sectors for emu async read, than smaller value, so game works smoothly, but NPC loads slower.
When will support DMA for this game, you can enjoy full speed, but for now that's as you can see in video.
