Im sure those 70 man battles pics on the hill by Ryo's residence are of the second time you can play it from the options menu if im right...

Huh? You never fight anybody near Ryo's house. The 70-Man Battle takes place a long ways from there. You do get the option of replaying the 70-Man Battle once you beat the game, but it's no different from the first time. How long has it been since you played?Xatruio wrote:the other ones are just of the old environments with the graphics of Shenmue I before they split them into two. The graphics don't have anything to do with it - Shenmue II's graphics weren't beefed up that much. The screens are just beta forms of areas in Shenmue II. Beta forms sometimes look pretty basic compared to the final version, this is no different.Xatruio wrote:OH, that one with the umbrellas is just a promo type shot of Kowloon.
...don't you mean Wan Chai? :?
(specifically the White Dynasty Qtr.)

Xatruio wrote:nope, that umbrella shot is definately Kowloon...

Uh, no. The 70-Man Battle takes place at the harbor, and only the harbor. Never have I played it anywhere else, or heard of such a thing. Besides, do you see that screen? There's one opponent - hardly the caliber of the 70-Man Battle. Have we played the same game...?Xatruio wrote:nope, that umbrella shot is definately Kowloon...
It's a beta shot, so it's anybody's guess what the area was intended to be, but it resembles the White Dynasty Quarter of Wan Chai far more than anywhere in Kowloon. The closest thing in Kowloon to that shot is the Stand Quarter, but there are few umbrellas there and the sales tents are spread out (not to mention a huge fountain). In the beta shot, the stalls and umbrellas are tightly packed in a narrow street, which is exactly the layout of Market Street in the White Dynasty Quarter. I don't mean to be persistent or rude, but your perception seems to be a little flawed. :?
