When I get over there (26 days... w00t!) I'll get some pics. Although they will be of Fukuoka/Kitakyushu and not the Shenmue locations.

Pretty new here so forgive me if this link can already be found in another thread, but there's an interesting site about Kowloon Walled City with quite a few good photos at

http://www.twenty4.co.uk/on-line/issue001/project02/KWC/

The best resource on KWC in English is probably City of Darkness by Greg Girard and Ian Lambrot (Watermark Press, London, 1993). It's a photo essay on Hak Nam, done in 88/92 before they tore it down:

When I get a new scanner I'll stick some pics up.

Hibakusha- you've made my day!

Ive been trying to get hold of 'City of Darkness'- and was told it was out of print. Im going to order it from Watermark ASAP!

For me Kowloon is the most fascinating area of Shenmue. Full marks to the programmers for bringing it back to life! It must have been a fascinating place to visit- tho not perhaps the easiest to live in. However from what I have been reading on the net about it- apparently the crime rate there was much lower than Hong kong.

I found a nice little pic of Man Mo temple

i have been saving up for a while and am going this summer to either tokyo, yokohama, hong kong,or guilen, going to japan is my most likely choice because i am scared of the sars in hong kong, in guilen i am scared of snakes so japan is going to be my best bet
