Shenmue Dojo

I don't know how well this'll work, but I had an awesome idea.

Get those dreamcasts out and pop in Shenmue I! So, the idea of this game is to get us into Shenmue I again (I'm sure it's been months since you've played). So, what we do is have this topic to update where we are in the game, what we're doing, etc...

What do you guys think?

It's a good idea Myles, I just like playing it at times of year like this when it actually is in Shenmue I. Little things like the snow in Yamanose and Santa walking past you every time you get the bus home from Dobuita at night .

Heh, that reminds me of that time where I was at the last stage in Christmas Day.....and it really was Christmas day that year.

That was about 2 years ago...that was a great time to remember.

Anyway, yea, once I get my brother to give up his Dreamcast, i'll participate.

I'll probably be hookin' up the DC again soon for some Shenmue goodness. I always play through Shenmue I during the "holiday season" ... Cool idea, Myles.

I'm in the midst of a game right now actually. Though I haven't played in a few weeks. I'd start playing again but Metal Gear Solid 3 could be here at any time. Sometime in the next month I think I will start it up again. And continue on to Shenmue 2.

i would, if my disc 2 was not damaged beyond being able to go to dobuita, and disc 3 being too horribly scratched to describe.

that was the situation with me but then i got a second dreamcast and it works fine in there. all this talk makes me want to play shenmue right now, though il probobly wont until the christmas holidays

Wow I started a new file not long ago but didn't follow through...but this sounds cool.
Yeah come december and on Christmas day I shall play some Shenmue.

no! i cant play until at least 2K4 Winter break and at most the 2K5 Summer break. Ill buy and play through MGS3, Half Life [DC], Propellar Arena, Bleem!MGS, and Bleem!GT2 before i replay Shenmue, even if it is after my nostalgia 'need' strike has ended on December 17th!

I haven't played it since the time I played it beginning to end in one sitting but might play it again thanks to this if i find the time

Does anyone want to start playing Shenmue on Nov. 29, the exact date
when the story begins? You can play it on the same days as Ryo is on
in the game and witness his adventure as he proceeds. Thus, you can
practically live in the Shenmue universe together with Ryo!

Of course, you should wait until Ryo gets up in 4 days after the opening
incident to actually start playing the game. ;)
