Shenmue Dojo

While taking my sweet time buying toy capsules and shopping at the Abe Store on the first day of my new playthrough and didn't visit Yamagishi-san until the next day I encountered this.



I saw the English version of this dialogue too so it is accurate. The "It is isn't it?" dialogue wasn't in the English version though.

Wow.. never seen that before.
Although I swear I've seen drunks on their arses in Dobuita... but then I've been playing Yakuza 5 recently and might be getting mixed up.

I have an extremely vague memory of this, as on my first play-through I found Yamagishi's house but didn't realise that he was round the side of the house in the garden, so I kept knocking on the door and wondering why he wouldn't answer So I didn't figure that out till the next day, and I seem to remember having that conversation with the drunk guy.

Yes they're in Dobuita. There's even a QTE fight with a drunk guy.

I've seen this dude in the same place multiple times before, so I can confirm it isn't exclusive to not visiting Yamagashi-san. Always felt kind of sorry for the guy, but he seems to be having a blast, so it's all good . If memory serves me well, he's actually a non-drunk drunk; instead, he is an ex-actor who pretends to be drunk for some reason.

Yeah he's not actually a drunk, his bio from the Dojo and the guide books confirm it.

Yeah he's not actually a drunk, his bio from the Dojo and the guide books confirm it.

Despite being just another NPC, he's my second favourite character in the game after Goro. Always a joy to see him walking and/or stumbling around Dobuita

Also didn't know the guy was an actor.
