Shenmue I & II not losing a poll on SegaScream.com anymore

There is an ongoing poll on Segascream.com about Dreamcast-era games we would buy if released on new platforms.

Shenmue (I & II) is losing by a fair margin against Jet Set Radio Future.

Who cares? It's not going to make any difference. It's not like that poll would lead to the making of HD version Shenmue. Plus I doubt SEGA would even care.

No shame to lose against JSRF. It's an enigmatic title for a lot of people who could not afford the xbox at the time. Not to mention playing 128 bits games on modern flat TVs is a woeful experience. Considering JSR is still mainly an aesthetic experience, a HD port is as much needed as Shenmue. [-o<

It's not a matter of shame, I loved Jet Set Radio and it's a great game. I would be more than pleased if they end both at first place :)
That said, I think we should as fans, seize every opportunity to show our strong interest for a release of Shenmue HD on modern platforms.

@asdfguy It doesn't matter if Sega cares or not about this kind of polls. With this kind of mentality, nobody would have fight for years to bring back the Shenmue franchise. Again, this is only my opinion, but we should keep pushing Shenmue in every possible way. That's our best insurance for Shenmue 3 commercial success and future episodes...

JSRF is a xbox game...

I can't vote, it says content is protected.

Exactly. :-s

@kiske - Votes for Shenmue have increased by a huge amount since ShenmueForever tweeted about it. The margin is closing in. I'm guessing not many fans knew about it.

Procedural defect!

More seriously, I really would love to see an HD port of them both.
But come on... this is Shenmue Dojo and we are talking about Shenmue on new platforms

For the record, there were polls in the past that tried to "prove" something, like this...

Keep supporting Shenmue's popularization, but at the same time do not take any (not really significant, not in a big site) poll in heart. For example, if that happened with the results of Sony PlayStation's #BuildingTheList campaign, it could be worrisome. But, in the current case, it's nothing to feel really frustrated about.

Well, the TSSZ poll is kind of stupid.

Who said it would be necessary to contribute with $500+ to make Shenmue 3 happen?

The 71'946 backers pledge average for Shenmue 3 is $91. That's huge!
According to the Kickstarter page, 1489 backers (2.14%) pledged $500+ (far below the TSSZ "projection") and yet $6'333'295 were raised. So again, the poll was stupid.

Anyway, I'm not worried about the Segascream poll. It's just... I don't like to lose

Future's not half as good as the original anyway.

true. in future the whole graffiti spraying has been fucked up majorly by not having different commands and thus making the game ridiculously easy

There were things I liked about both, but I prefer JSRF.

Some of the things that i didn't like about the original that were fixed in jsrf was the ammount of time it took to get some speed, the time limit and the ammount of time you spend on the ground (in jsrf) you can pretty much grind every level), the lock on grinding was more potent in jsrf, and also doing tricks to get more speed while grinding.

If only 18% actually did give 500+, that would be a significant boost.

Ridiculous article though. What successful kicksktarter has had to rely on $500+ donations? It's the mass of smaller donations that will make up the bulk of the total number.
