Shenmue Dojo

Hi all,

Just been checking on the Chinese Shenmue BBS today, and found out that WorldBox has permission from Sega to make Shenmue figures. They're currently working on Ryo, not sure who else they'll be making.

Edit: a quick summary of the thread, basically one of the company's employees made the announcement that WorldBox got permission from Sega, and he/she gave the forum members a few WIP images (see near bottom of page) to gain their feedback. It looks like it will be a doll-like figure, so you can move the limbs and body.

Let me know your thoughts on it and I can also post them on the thread.

Cool! I especially love how they've included screenshots from 'Bullet in the Head' for some reason... xD Seriously though I love that film, John Woo's second best feature film (first is 'The Killer' of course! :-

This is actually really old news. We had a news topic about this in December of last year.
If you look closely at the post on Baidu you'll see that it's just as old. Thought they at least posted some update now.

Yep sorry my bad.

Looks like they won't be ready to release for some time, although they're making good progress with the model

The detail looks really great, but I think I'm going to stick with the First 4 Figure version as I'm not one to have soft clothing on my figures for my nerd shelf. I just wish that these detailed figures weren't so expensive. The cheapest I've seen Ryo from First 4 is around $150 but it goes for double that usually. I'm planning to purchase it in the fall as a pat on the back if I'm able to maintain my 4.0 GPA for my entire bachelor's degree. Only 4 classes to go.
