Reicast note book problem

I am using the current Reicast on the play store. While Shenmue seems to work very well so far, I can't read any thing in Ryo's note book. Half the page is either blacked out or is covered by a square which is the same colour of the note book that covers the writing.
Is there currently a fix for this? The latest Reicast doesn't fix it either.
