Shenmue 1 Japanese voices English subtitles (Demand?)

Hi , i just recently played Shenmue 1 + 2 , which are of course wonderful games , my research did let me end up here <3

If there is still need for help and there are tutorials on how i could help , please let me know... since there were rumors about a hd version and stuff i am totally fired up =)

I have an idea of how to do this mod.
Easiest way to test it would be to know which data is loaded first on CD1. (i.e the folders)
It would be a shame to mod a whole disk and spend hours on it and it crashes before the first scene.
I havent looked at shenmue 1 files in awhile but what i remember was that the compressed .afs once extracted were a bunch of .bin files. (which was different from shen2)
Maybe the subtitle (.bin) file associated with each .afs would be the .bin that has the least file size.
View in a hex editor to make sure.
If that is the case you would take the JAP Shenmue 1 disk and then swap the subtitles from the NTSC/U Shenmue 1 disk.
Compress the .afs after you swap each .bin, then compile a selfboot .cdi

I don't think I'd have a problem with that alone but then there's that the text and voice may not match up so you'd have to edit the subtitles to make them fit, or get the point across without as many words or something.

Well, other than my grandfather passing away on my birthday last month on the 30th of December I am doing ok I suppose.

Got a gaming PC I build 8 months or so back been enjoying it thoroughly.
