Hi,

here is a video comparison (Prologue & Intro Sequence) made by myself between all two versions of Shenmue II.

Great job. There are quite a few more differences than I thought.

Great work there!Funny how this video appears in a thread and just moments later you also post it yourself. :)
I'd love to do something like this myself. Maybe I'll be able to record from an Xbox sometime soon.

cool, I never noticed that Shenmue IIx used different water than the DC version. Someone should make a video comparing all the texture changes the xbox version has.

On Xbox there is different water, the clouds are completely different as well. The colours are have a much higher contrast on Dreamcast. Makes the Xbox version look washed out but I can see now that it's actually much more realistic. Xbox has enhanced effects has well, the lenseflairs are much more bountiful than on the Dreamcast.

Though, I still think while the Xbox version looks better and might display at a higher resolution compared to the Dreamcast, the Dreamcast is still the definitive version.

There's some really weird model and texture changes in the Xbox version, it has a very horrible dub, and the xbox does not support VGA. Though there was a component adapter allowed for 720p in some games, I think.

Will post more changes if I notice them.

Edit: a few more changes.

On Xbox the water splashes in the fountain in workers pier.
The steam/smoke effects have a much higher opacity level.
