Do you prefer the Xbox version or Dreamcast?

I'd have to say the Xbox because of the one disk only. I know the voice acting isn't the best but for me I couldn't play without Cory Marshall's voice as Ryo.

Thats a tough one,i like the DC version because you can carry on from shenmue one and bring all your stuff with you....but i like the xbox version because of the camera feature......i would say also because its in english but the voices are not exactly the best

Tough call for me as well.
Dreamcast had the more smoothing japanese VAs and the QTEs were easier to perform.
But the XBOX had the picture thing, no terrible slowdown, the 80s glow effect that made it more attractive looking, saving was on the HD, and it was all on one disc too.
By a close call, i'd probably say the XBOX version for those reasons stated above.

It's a toss-up for me too, I have no preference really.
I certainly don't mind not having to change discs, but at the same time I kind of enjoy that novelty.
I prefer the English voices by far, except for Shenhua for some reason.
I enjoy having no slowdown, that was one of the biggest detriments of the DC version IMO.
But I think the biggest advantage the Xbox version has over the DC version though is the 10 save slots.

Dreamcast version, definitely !
The voices are faaaar much better (japanese voice actors are very skilled, th most in the world), and the Dreamcast VGA out allows you to play on an higher resolution than on a tv screen, with better animation and colors, without aliasing !
Dreamcast version, for sure !

Well, the graphics are better on the Dreamcast so i'm going with that. It's almost a coin flip though...

The Xbox version for me, shitty voice acting is one of, if not, the main reason I love Shenmue.

Surely both...But I rather Xbox version more.
Reasons for Dreamcast
Good Voice Acting
Shenmue spirit is from Dreamcast
likely cute little white controller
VMU features...that no other console have it.
VF History included for the Japanese Version.
Reasons for the Xbox version ....
"A real better graphics-colors"
"Better Lighting"and more light effects
"More polygons & details for the characters-scences and the other objects"Remember and compare the sea from Shenmue II Xbox with it's DC version...
"More speed in loadings-Also the game will never slow down
remember Lai Lai Eatary in DC version!"
"Dolby 5.1 Sound"
"HDTV"
"Snap Shot :You can take pictures from your lovely moments for all time"
"Shenmue I The Movie Included"
"I can't carry 4 disks...1 DVD is enough!"

Who would play the Xbox version? I certainly didn't. DC will always be the home of Shenmue
