Your opinion is one of minority I believe, most people prefer the Japanese voice acting. I have only played the Xbox version but have seen the videos of the DC version and it is more "authentic" sounding to me. But I too could see how reading subtitles would get old.

Well, glad that you got a European copy of Shenmue 2. I just recently purchased an original Xbox last week and I had Shenmue 2 sitting in my collection of games for over a year now untouched but I finally got around to playing it and I got to say, the Xbox version of Shenmue 2 is so much better to play than the Dreamcast version in my opinion. Mostly because it is in English and that I actually do enjoy the English dub in the game because Cory Marshell does a great job playing Ryo and in my opinion better than the Japanese actor and that I don't have to read any more subtitles in the game. Also, I could also tell that the graphics look a bit more detailed to me in the Xbox version than the Dreamcast version.

But when i really got "hit" by the originality of Shenmue was at 3AM when i had come home from a night out, and left the Come Over Guest House, walked to the bottom of the street and started working the Lucky Hit Stand. It was at night and there was a lovely yellow/orange glow of the vendors shirt, and the colour of the entire street was breathtaking. I will never forget that moment..

One thing I really don't like about Shenmue 2? Those Pause QTEs..such a pain..and I mean such a pain I guess I just can't work them... LEFT RIGHT A, LEFT RIGHT A.. had to try a good 10+ times before it worked getting into Jaun's apartment (I Know I misspelled her name.)
