Help! PAL Shenmue 2 error on my DC NTSC-J console

Hi,

my Dreamcast console is NTSC-J format so I use a DC Import Enabler to play my newly bought original Shenmue 2 PAL game. But this ''data read error -30 AIR_TXO5.SPR'' keeps popping up and the furthest I can play was until the intro scene in Disk 1 ends (Ryo alighting from the ship). Sometimes it will be a different error from ''-30 AIR_TXO5.SPR'' but basically the game enters black screen with the white error text flickering at the top. Please help!! :(

Disc read errors are not usually caused by import enablers.

Is the disc clean and in good condition?

Hi, thanks for the reply. The disc looks pretty fine with just a few minor scratches which are also commonly found on operational discs. Also, I do not have any disc cleaner and not sure which ones to use to ensure it doesnt spoil the disk. My friend said that Utopia Boot Disk is the most reliable boot disk for Dreamcast. I'm going to try that and hope it works. Meanwhile, kindly let me know if you have any better alternatives, thanks again!

Probably the scratches having issues as import discs do not cause this error.
This error is reported during read cycles so it has to be the disc.

Also Utopia is the WORST thing to use for import loading.
The best solution is Codebreaker for so many reasons.
Utopia was designed solely for patching a boot sector into non-self boot games and pretty much ONLY for Dead or Alive 2.

Believe me.... I know.
