I hope there's a good enough reason because that's bizarre. Maybe Sega took control away from SunSoft?

Hey! Greetings again! First of all thank you guys for being such an awesome comunity, and I also hope to stay active in here! I have the full Q&A panel recorded and will be uploading it in a couple of days too. In any case I don't think he said anything revealing and the Shenmue 3 comentary was told as a compliment to all the people inquiring about Shenmue 3 and the meaning of the Shenmue Tree.

As I told Kenji from Shenmue Master (thank you again for all your work!!!), Mr Cedric Biscay (CEO of Shibuya International) and Yu Suzuki himself, Yu is one of the true pioneers of our medium, unfortunately it's been 10 years since his last game. A decade ago he was on top of the mountain, but nowadays he seems to be starting all over again... And he DESERVES to be on the TOP!

The interview was seen as too complicated from the get-go and the official translator to Japanese wasn't willing to do it. It was thanks to Mr Cedric Biscay, who personally told Suzuki-san of my will to do this as a way to raise AWARENESS of the importance of Suzuki's games and his role in videogame history that finally the interview was done. A few questions were agreed not to be asked and he didn't want to elaborate on artistic sensibilities or opinions (my interview focused mainly on that) because he didn't feel that was the good enviroment (we were apart from the main show, but not in a closed location, so there were other guests around us, I COMPLETELY AGREE that it was not the best-case-scenario to talk about art). All in all the interview went along. And I've been told that my WILL and ENERGY (or pain in the ass insistence) managed to get at least more out of Suzuki-san than the rest of interviews before and after.

I am telling you this because I do not want you to think that I have THE interview, at least not what I envisioned it to be, but please do not blame Yu Suzuki. In any case BLAME ME, because I wasn't able to come around the bumps in the road. Also I felt that I had the responsability to make something different, something BETTER, but didn't succed. Still I would be glad if you checked the interview in a couple of days and let me know. And even if I couldn't give you the insight knowledge that you deserve as a comunity that has held tight for a decade without Shenmue, I have a little present for you, so STAY TUNED! In the meanwhile...

So Yu Suzuki left us in the cold again regarding Shenmue III? I was hoping to hear good news this time but is the same response as always.

No worries el clown, I don't think any of us were genuinely expecting you get any of the information out of Yu that no one else has managed to pry out of him in the last decade. Still I look forward to reading it when you post it.
Also that comment about Suzuki saying "I have to make Shenmue 3"is surely a positive sign, and shows that he is a lot more openly positive about the franchise now than he has been in nearly a decade. However I'm still not allowing myself to get super excited over what may still just be a passing comment to appease the crowds.

The only think I can say is this: when I asked if there was a port to XBL-PSN or HD remake for XBOX-PS3 on the works, he looked at me and said: You mean Remake or Port? Which made the warning lights in my head go nuts!

Also Pardon me, I may be a little slow here, but I don't actually understand the relevance of this? Wasn't he just repeating the question back to you?

Good work anyway el clown, stick around the Dojo, it'd be great to have you about!

Yeah this needs some clarification.

When I asked about a port or remake, he was getting the translation and then he asked me to specify if I meant one or the other. I said that any of the two, he laughed and said: "Possibly". In English. What really struck me is that if he wanted to specify is because at least there could be something on the works!

Oh I see. Ah, how great it would be if that really is in the works, I mean it's surely the most logical thing in the world to re-release a game like Shenmue as a download! And also it would give us fans here the small glimmer of hope we've been waiting for. I've said many times before that it's only a matter of time before it get's re-released as a download and I still believe that, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

We need to keep continuing to pester Sega I guess......right now where's that list of random Sega employee's email address's I keep...

Did you ask him how much would it cost to make a proper Shenmue sequel. It would be nice if he remake them with next gen graphics. I would love to see Guilin chapter reinvented with today's graphics.

Hello,

Thank you for the information el_clown, I'm very happy to here them !

I'm a french fan of Shenmue. I was unfotunately not in Toulouse these days but on the video you posted (third part of it) you can hear at 6:10 a guy asking Yu if some downloadable versions of Shenmue 1 and 2 would be on the PSN and XBLA. Then the girl translated to him and then she asked to the guy to repeat/precise the question ("Do you mean a downloadable version ?") but Yu seemed to have understood. Then you can see his mysterious head movement.
It is strange that he asked to repeat the question as he did with el_clown and his answer is mysterious too.

For the questions about Shenmue 3, he answered like every time according to other french guys but on the video I cannot hear (it is a single word so I guess it is "maybe" or someting like that).
He also said that he currently works with Nintendo on a game which uses augmented reatity (it is a game where you can make animals fight to each other).
