I really like this tee. Including the big blue bold printed SHENMUE (like a movie poster). But the "hardcore chocolate" branding is just so boog, and to make it worse they put it on not just one but BOTH FRIGGING SLEEVES.

The last line of the write-up is annoyingly optimistic.

I damn whoever wrote that for pushing the right buttons to get me excited about a freaking t-shirt.

This is... strange, to say the least.
Sega of Japan was always very dogmatic about not talking about Shenmue.
It's just a tshirt at the end of the day but... '...journey has only just begun!'... I mean, it has to mean something versus the silence we mostly got from them over the years.

I know it's tempting for all of us here to scrutinize and try and read between the lines of everything that's said around Shenmue, but sometimes we have to step outside the Shenmue bubble and look at it the way we would any other game. If you're a T-shirt company trying to get fans of a dormant but unfinished series excited about your new licensed product, why wouldn't you try and make it sound relevant and full of promise for the future? "We love Shenmue like you do! It's not dead! Ryo's adventure is just beginning! Go Ryo! Now buy our shit, peasants..."

They'd include the exact same line in the marketing blurb for a Half-Life T-shirt. It's not making promises of a sequel on Sega's behalf, it's just trying to reflect and appeal to the hopeful enthusiasm of their target audience.
