Chinese figure manufacturer, World Box, have acquired the rights from SEGA to produce 1:6 scale Shenmue action figures. No specific date or characters have yet been revealed.

World Box's recent portfolios include videogame IP's such as Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat, as well as comic book IP's such as Batman.

Wow this is awesome! As a collector of Sonic and Sega figures this is really exciting! Wonder how many they'll make in the series? Hope they aren't going to be too pricey like First4Figures, or hard to aquire...

Just worked out, Ryo is around 5.8 feet tall (profile says 176cm). If you round that up to 6 feet, then the figure is going to be roughly 1 foot tall based on that 1:6 ratio thing. The Ryo First4Figure figure was 12 inches tall, and 12 inches is exactly 1 foot. So basically, these new 1:6 figures will be as tall as the First4Figures Ryo figure...hopefully that doesn't mean that they can instantly slap a similar price on them though!

Me too.

I hope, that they will produce many figures of all THREE games. I will collect these figures for a lower price like 20 Dollars each figure!!!

And the best is, that the IP "Shenmue" grows and grows after the announcement of Shenmue 3!!!

I was optimistic until i seen the prices. Actually more expensive than F4F. Plus more expensive shipping. Probably talking 1000+ for the 4 main characters.

See, this is the kind of figure I'd want to see in Shenmue form.

For the money, they pack in an incredible amount of detail for under $20. Anything in the $150+ range is going to pretty much be only for the hardest of hardcore. And the First4 ones fill that role already.

Yeah Peter, looking to be the case mate based on their track record in the portfoilio...that's disappointing, i'm still not particularly recovered money-wise from the kickstarter lol :(

The First4Figures look shit to me. The figures I have seen from World Box look great though, been hoping for some higher quality figures than these, and seeing that Sega is on board (meaning they are officially licensed figures) is even more promising. I would love to have a ryo figure at the very least, but depending how much I may smash or pass, we need to see pics of these things and price tags and pre-orders.

Great for the ones that can afford it.

It becomes really complicated to find Shenmue merchandising with a low price. I've never seen it in physical shops.
