But in Shenmue 2..... When Ryo meet Zhu Yuanda...... He tell him a story with treasure..... He didn't even say anything about the Chi You resurrection thing that Master Chen......

In the Making of Shenmue video..... It show that Mr. Suzuki is studying the game Fantasy 8 made in 1999.....

Master Chen was speaking in metaphor while Zhu told Ryo what the mirrors actually do when combined.

That said, given the mystical elements introduced in Shenmue 2, I would not be surprised if these two explanations are literal and not mutually exclusive.

I think it is safe to say, Chen means the Zhu who was friends with Iwao Hazuki. He recognizes Zhu's handwriting in the letter to Iwao.

Now about Chen saying the mirrors ressurect Chi You and Zhu saying they are a treasure map, there is a number of possibilities

a) Chen is right.
b) Zhu is right.
c) The mirrors can do both, resurrect Chi You and point the way to a treasure.
d) Both Chen and Zhu are wrong.

Now is Chen lying, or is Zhu lying, or is one of them just misinformed himself or are they both misinformed? We don't know.

it's been said or at least hinted at by yu suzuki that yuanda zhu is not the person he claims to be. he's not really a good guy.

What I'm saying now is just my personal speculation but I think it could be possible that Zhu lied in Ren's hideout to ensure Ren's support for Ryo in Guilin. Ren probably wouldn't have cared about Chi You but since he thinks there is money (a Qing treasure) involved, he decides to follow Ryo to Guilin.
