I think it's interesting the official Sega Facebook page shared a link to the Lan Di figure preorder.

Baby steps, folks.

They've done this with licensed Shenmue merchandise before, as they're likely to get royalties for every statue sold.

They'll get nicer royalties from game sales. :)

Surely just by adding the old school spoken words "seeegga" back into their intro sequences would immediately increase brand awareness? Past few SEGA games I have played have just been the logo and no sound. I remember kids shouting that SEGA intro in the school yard etc.

Doubt it. Just seems like more meaningless PR to me. SEGA aren't going to make Shenmue HD without external funding.

As much as I want to believe..... It's Sega.

If they promoted the Kickstarter, or even Shennue 3 in general, then yes, I'd believe in a heartbeat. Promotion of Shennue would mean more sales of a HD release, which in turn would mean more sales of Shennue 3.

Sega doesn't like money folks.

Man i just wished Sega would just go out of business already and sell the Shenmue IP to Sony.

Also, I'll be better if Sega would just not even respond to that tweet because it gives people hope for nothing to come..... what's the point of responding? So they look good? they've being doing this exact crap so much that i doubt anyone would believe them at this point.
