You're comparing it to other Kickstarters, but what about the actual game advertising? This is awful. At this rate, the game would drop on PS4 and Steam and no one would know because they didn't bother to tell us the release date. This is terrible and inexcusable.

Yes it is doing better than Bloodstained so far. I know because I've backed Bloodstained and tracked its progress everyday just like I'm doing with Shenmue. But the thing is Bloodstaineds kickstarter was miles better than Shenmue 3's. There was content constantly being added and they encouraged backer participation with fan art and social media to unlock rewards.

Bloodstained almost made an extra $2 million in it's last 2 days, that a HUGE surge. Hopefully Shenmue 3's kickstarter start to add in more content to entice more backers.

I want it to make hundreds of millions of dollars and I want everyone in the world to buy two copies, but I'm content with the way things are going. I agree the Kickstarter is not being run well, but it's also already broken records, gotten into the news and generated quite a bit of excitement in the gaming community. Who would've thought Shenmue 3 would make headlines 15 years later?

Unfortunately, I'm afraid a lot of negativity surrounding the Kickstarter might dissuade the casual spectator from donating. The Polygon article made me pretty angry.

Here's hoping they get their act together in the next couple weeks. I believe they're getting and reading a lot of our feedback.

Doing one for the Dojo would be awesome for the hardcore.

Reddit is a site read by millions? Better and easier? No. Reddit is for gaining mass appeal and awareness. However, he should do both.

Just put a some money, and all the story items / photos. In shenmue IIx you started with pretty much everything, and it wasn't a problem even then.

There's not more than that. Do you care that much of starting with 10k or 1k in the wallet ?

There are people who played through Shenmue I back in the day and later they started Shenmue II with that same finished save file so it really felt like they continued the same journey. It would be great to continue that same file that was once started in Shenmue I. And it would be a nice treat for the whole Dreamcast community.
And I think this feature would be easy to add. They must know the structure of the Shenmue II save file and from there it should be really easy to extract the information needed to start Shenmue III.

Well then I guess we've been waiting for the AMA for nothing. Really having this thing take place when most people in the States and Europe will be sleeping is just plain stupid.

What a fucked up thing. For fuck sakes, Shenmue fans could have done better for free.

They just posted a comment on the Kickstarter saying that it will be 9:30 PM.
