Like ive said this week, i just dont get the criticisms or negativity directed towards Shenmue 3.

Its in the hands of Yu and his team. It will be great. End of story.

Product placement within the game? Or you mean placing Shenmue in other media to get the word out?

Jet Cola FTW!

Wow. Wasn't expecting that today.

With this, and the Kickstarter poll today / additional rewards in the pipeline, it feels as if the community's input is finally being responded to. Very happy to read this, especially the line about Shenmue 3 being true to its name "even if the stretch goals are not reached".

I wonder how relevant the Stretch Goals even are TBH, and if they were actually included more "because Kickstarters have them" than accurate measures of the game - perhaps that's why some of them are so vague. Hope it raises $5M+ but I know Yu will make good with whatever he gets.

If there were a Coca Cola machine in Shenmue 3, would they need to pay or would they be paid for that because it's in game advertising?

I actually love PP in media. It makes it feel more real to me! I was gutted the Coca Cola PP was removed from Shenmue for EU and US releases.

Maybe instead of Bob's Pizza we will get Dominos Pizza.

Thanks Yu for this space of breath among all this crap journalism and their idiotic readers.

Basically I'm sayin in game if it brings extra funds. I don't mind Ryo turning to the screen every 60 secs and smiling while he tells us why Sensodyne is the number one toothpaste recommended by dentists. I'll just wait for a mod to sort it out before I play.

Ironically, in the first game there were more SEGA advertisements than anything else :P

Yu Suzuki was the master of crunch, sleeping in the floor of the office.

Let's have hope.

So lets look at the 10 Million stretch goal as the top shelf, caviar, best case scenario, if money were no object kind of expectation, it would blow the lid of the first 2 games and probably be ALOT different from them as well. I think it would be great to reach, but its still going to be just fine even if the kick starter only does muster around 5 million. I really dont get what some ppls issues are, they clearly had a plan and budget and reasonable expectations before putting all this into motion. I wish some ppl around here would just relax about it and enjoy the ride instead...

So basically, getting above the 5 million goal would deliver something more revolutionary? While a result under it would still lead to a worthy successor? That's good news if it's true. I want to believe it though since Yu cares about the series and is a perfectionist. He maybe made sure to get enough outside investors so he could at least create a sequel worthy of the name regardless of the exact final sum. But they likely wanted to see the campaign hit 2 million first before choosing to commit.

Besides, almost all games have to leave out things due to the realities of the budget. It's just that we don't know about it and in many cases the games are great nonetheless.

alexh86 wrote:Then, I saw the graph of backing support for Bloodstained. I don't know if that example is typical of KS projects but they got a huge swell of support right at the last minute.

I think that it's quite typical. I've seen that exponentially increasing behavior near the end in a couple of campaigns.

Suzuki-san is very clear here.

Come on, let's back it the best we can.

The more funds= the better development.

We'll get the 10M. After the KS, we will have about 2 and a half years time to get there through Paypal. Cheer up, every one! :) Let's just make the KS the best we can and AFTER that is done we will have enough time to discuss what to do. :)

Oh, and just in case I forgot to mention it: Shenmue 3 is coming!!! :king:
